All That Glitters currently spans 10 pieces, made between March and April 2023, that are divided into two displays - All That Glitters: Gold and All That Glitters: Silver - formerly displayed at GOCA Downtown in Colorado Springs, Colorado as part of the 2023 UCCS Senior show Ouroboros from April 14th to May 13th.

All That Glitters

Each piece is built upon something people are taught to be negative: fragility, chaos, flaws, and brokenness. In contradiction to this, the physical qualities of the work are meant to evoke positive feelings and concepts: value, beauty, preciousness, and perfection. The energy of this innate struggle between positive and negative is captured within each sculpture, acting as a physical reflection of our own inner conflicts. When both form and concept come together in this way, these works serve as tools to both accept and overcome the oftentimes suffocating negativity that can permeate our lives. Yet when all is said and done, each piece leaves behind an image of beauty that seeks to solidify the belief that the positives always outweigh the negatives, even in a flawed world.
